Hycar® 2679 emulsion is a heat-reactive acrylic latex polymer. It provides outstanding wash and dry cleaning resistance and is not easily soiled. It achieves discoloration resistance to light and heat aging -- the later being outstanding even in its own class of acrylic latexes. But most important is that these outstanding properties are achieved with a minimum heat requirement. This, combined with the latex’s ease of compounding because of its good colloidal stability, can affect significant cost savings. Hycar 2679 emulsion is suggested for use as a saturant and/or backcoating for textile fabrics, nonwoven fabrics and paper. Its pigment binding properties should make it well suited for use in print pastes, textile printing inks and pigmented coatings such as leather finish formulations. Its adhesive characteristics are such that it has been used as a base for formulating excellent laminating adhesives, packaging adhesives and flocking adhesives.
