Solsperse™ AC5128  

A partially neutralized polymeric dispersant designed for Advanced Ceramic formulations

Solsperse™ AC5128 is a partially neutralized, 55% active solids, the water-soluble copolymer that offers significant technical advantages in a range of ceramic processing methods, including slip casting, gel casting, spray drying, isostatic pressing, and uniaxial pressing. Typical applications include advanced engineered ceramics formulations and low conductivity slurries. Solsperse™ AC5128 should be thoroughly blended with the aqueous phase and binder mixture before the addition of ceramic/filler solids. Addition levels should be based on the surface area of the ceramic / filler. The dosage level is typically 2mg active dispersant per square meter of ceramic filler surface area. This is simply the surface area divided by 5. The typical dosage is 1-2% dispersant on the total weight of ceramic / filler. Small particle size / higher surface area ceramics may have a higher dispersant demand.
