Obtained from the fresh leaves of Camellia sinensis, it is well known throughout the world for its multiple beneficial properties for the organism. Native to Assam, Burma and Yunnan, nowadays it is mainly produced in China, India, Indonesia and Japan. Proclaimed as “heaven-sent” by the Chinese Emperor Shen Nung after some leaves had fallen into boiling water releasing a delightful aroma.
