Lubrizol employees are passionate about environmental stewardship and combatting climate change, both at work and in their communities. Our soon-to-be-released 2020 Corporate Report tells the story of how, since 1928, we have innovated and created chemistry that preserves and protects the planet by:
- Reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from vehicles
- Enabling use of low global warming potential cooling technology
- Embedding recyclability into plumbing materials, textiles and performance footwear
- Extending the durable life and efficiency of the technology that makes the things we need
- Helping us all to save water and energy when we do our laundry
Our team choses to make change outside of work as well. Lubrizol is proud to support our employees who take action to improve the natural environment in the communities where they live all around the world, including:
- Restoring beaches and preserving marine life in Barcelona, Spain
- Planting trees to increase the tree canopy to enable carbon capture in Northeast Ohio
- Restoring marshland and their ecosystems
- Clearing litter from highway grasslands in Montana
- Creating a protected space in Hazelwood, UK, to preserve the local biodiversity
These are just a few examples. When people who are passionate about the environment choose a place to work, they carry that passion with them. It’s this passion that drives Lubrizol's innovation and is the foundation for our commitment to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 13 (Climate Action), 14 (Life Below Water) and 15 (Life on Land). It’s also why environmental stewardship is one of our priorities for community investment. By our centennial in 2028, Lubrizol has committed to donate over $20 million dollars and 80,000 employee volunteer hours globally to organizations that align with our community investment priorities, including UN SDGs 13, 14 and 15. At Lubrizol we believe in taking action to make change, and we know that innovative chemistry – like a passionate team of changemakers – is an irresistible force for good.
