Improving lives in communities where our employees live and work has been a core value of Lubrizol since our founding more than 90 years ago. Our focus on Global Goals, Local Actions allows us to realize global engagement goals through actions that are uniquely relevant in the communities we call home.

Our Goals Ahead

Each year, we contribute millions of dollars in grants, donations and employee matching gifts. In addition to charitable giving, employees donate tens of thousands of volunteer hours each year.

By 2028, Lubrizol will assist 2,028,000 lives globally through engagement activities in the communities where we live and work. We will do this by:

Giving at least $20,280,000 to organizations that are aligned with our community engagement priorities
Giving at least 80,000 volunteer hours to activities that are aligned with our community engagement priorities

The Lubrizol Foundation

One of the ways Lubrizol contributes charitable donations is through The Lubrizol Foundation, which provides funding to qualified U.S.-based organization. Learn more about The Lubrizol Foundation and our grants.

Grants will be awarded to organizations with missions consistent with Lubrizol's community engagement priorities and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 3, 4, 13, 14, 15, focused on advancing health and wellbeing, quality education, climate action and life under water and on land.

Our latest global efforts include:

Equipping Hospitals with PPE

Over the past year, Lubrizol Teams across the globe donated to hospitals to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Recently, Lubrizol Mexico donated 1,1750 pieces of PPE, 75 gallons of hand sanitizer and 300 bottles of lotion to the Socially Responsible Committee.

Supporting Handwashing for Children

Lubrizol’s team in China donated for Handwashing for Children, a program targeted to help children in less developed area improve hygiene habits and health conditions.

Raising Awareness and Money for MIND

Staff at Lubrizol’s Derbyshire, UK, office joined took on an Olympic-sized challenge to swim, run and race almost 6,000 miles, the distance between the UK and Japan. This challenge helped raise awareness and money for the mental health charity, MIND.

Mentoring Students Virtually

Local Northeast Ohio Lubrizol Employees volunteered and mentored eighth grade students in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District through the True2U Mentoring Program. The program is designed to help students develop good decision-making skills and encourages them to leverage their strengths and interests as they start out on their paths to high school, college, and/or career choices.

Partnering with Breakthrough Schools

Lubrizol’s Information Solutions employees supported Cleveland-based Breakthrough Schools in their annual fundraising event, Breakthrough Bash. The team collaborated with Breakthrough to plan and produce their first ever virtual live fundraising event, allowing over 4,000 viewers to virtually attend.

Planting Trees

The LZAM (Lubrizol Advanced Materials) South Asia team took part in a plantation drive in Bhavale to benefit Hariyali, a non-governmental organization that protects and upgrades environmental conditions.
