It is a natural ingredient (according to ISO 16128), readily biodegradable, palm-free, suitable for halal and vegan formulations and fully traceable. It can be combined with or replace typical vegetable oils — and, in some instances, mineral oil.
Made from microalgae through a controlled fermentation process, AlgaPūr™ HSHO algae oil is produced in the absence of light which allows traceability and reproducibility to obtain a high-performing material batch after batch with a low environmental impact.
Today, there are more than 9,000 strains of microalgae available globally that are sourced from different environments including freshwater, saltwater, deserts and forests. Originally sourced from the sap of a chestnut tree, AlgaPūr™ HSHO algae oil is produced using sugarcane as feedstock, which makes it the perfect solution for eco-friendly formulations.
