CLEVELAND, Ohio — As part of its continued dedication to polymer technology innovation, Lubrizol, a global specialty chemical leader, announces the availability of a new resin that enables the formulation of advanced jettable primers for digital printing applications.
PrintRite™ DP 379 dispersion is a non-ionic, water-borne polyurethane dispersion, designed as a hydrophilic polymer with enhanced moisture vapor transmission, good absorbency of water, and compatibility with a variety of coating additives.
As a low particle size dispersion, it is an exciting new resin consideration for jettable primers and inks. Compliant to the Swiss Ordinance 817.023.21 and EU No 10/2011, it is suited for applications in food packaging as an ink binder and/or print receptive coatings.
“PrintRite DP 379 offers a significant advancement for the packaging industry in its shift from analog to digital printing,” notes Nicholas Scheinkonig, global technical marketing manager at Lubrizol. “The formulation of jettable primers with PrintRite DP 379 brings several benefits, including the ability to apply primers only in the printed areas, which reduces overall primer consumption and lowers the energy usage for the drying processes. Primers based on PrintRite DP379 work exceptionally well in an integrated-systems approach using digital inks formulated with Diamond Dispersions™ Color Dispersions and Lubrijet™ binders.”
