CLEVELAND, Ohio — As part of its continued dedication to polymer technology innovation, Lubrizol announces the availability of a new binder that enables the formulation of advanced jettable inks for digital printing.
Lubrijet™ N440 is an anionically stabilized, aliphatic polyurethane dispersion suitable for the formulation of water-based pigmented inkjet inks. With excellent adhesion to vinyl, metal, paper and plastic substrates with a small particle size distribution, it is a robust new resin consideration for jetting applications either as an ink binder or in specific primer and pre-coat applications.
As a low particle size dispersion, it is an exciting new resin consideration for jettable inks. Compliant to the Swiss Ordinance 817.023.21 and EU No 10/2011, it is suited for applications in food packaging as an ink binder.
“Lubrijet N440 offers a significant advancement for the packaging industry in its shift from analog to digital printing”, notes Nicholas Scheinkonig, global technical marketing manager at Lubrizol. “The formulation of jettable inks with Lubrijet N440 brings several benefits, including excellent adhesion to range of substrates, narrow particle size for reliable jetting, and tough and durable films for the protection of pigment inks. Inks formulated with Lubrijet N440 work exceptionally well in an integrated-systems approach with Diamond Dispersions™ Color Dispersions.”
