Lubrizol Announces New Manufacturing Home For Diamond Dispersions™ Product Line

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Lubrizol Performance Coatings has moved production of its Diamond Dispersions™ technologies to its plant in Carlton, Barnsley, UK. The move allows Lubrizol to better serve new and future customers, provide additional jobs, increase community impact and fulfill the company mission to help the world Live Better through impactful science.

Over the last few years, the Diamond Dispersions product line has recorded outstanding growth. As such, manufacturing had outgrown its production site in nearby Darnall, Sheffield. The transition to the Barnsley site delivers robust production capacity and the opportunity to further expand to meet continued global growth in the industrial inkjet market.

“Barnsley is a great place to do business, and after looking at the options available across Lubrizol, the Barnsley site ticked all the boxes,” explains Paul Mellor, site manager at Barnsley. “Maintaining Diamond Dispersion’s presence in South Yorkshire is also valuable and underlines our continued commitment to the region and our people.”

The first batch of Diamond Dispersions product was manufactured in the new plant in May 2020 and a new warehouse was built to expand warehouse capacity. A number of other additions and changes including a new QC laboratory, pre-milling and pre-mixing area, and a second Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) are in process.

The Diamond Dispersions product line is valuable for many industrial inkjet applications and provides ink manufacturers the ability to produce very high quality, consistent inks.
