Flexible Applications

Standard PVC is made flexible through the addition of plasticizers, which makes rigid PVC more ductile. The addition of TempRite® Engineered Materials resins results in an increased softness in the final product and allows for a reduction in the amount of plasticizer used.

 

 

Blending TempRite Engineered Materials with flexible PVC can significantly reduce optical smoke density while increasing the LOI of the polymer. Similar or superior flame and smoke performance can therefore be achieved without the use of higher priced and potentially toxic additives such as Antimony Trioxide.

PVC is a long-established flooring material, and is popular because of its ease of installation, scratch, stain and moisture resistance, and durability. The addition of CPVC helps enhance heat resistance, flame and smoke properties and improves weldability.
